Pears rejected by supermarkets due to cosmetic standards
Crates of beautiful pears gleaned from the trees of a Kent farm by volunteers from The Gleaning Network, to be distributed to FareShare and charities helping people suffering from food poverty. The pears were rejected due to unnecessarily strict cosmetic standards imposed on farmers by the supermarkets.
