Hand Study No. 1

Later I took a photograph of a girl’s hand surrounded by her pink-themed anime outfit. In response to Gilden’s suggestion that I focus on a project instead of sticking to the scatterbrain approach I was using, I made a small series that I hope to continue on hands, isolated from their environments with clothing as their backdrop.

Born and raised between London and New York, I started shooting after I saw 1950s street photography by Ray Metzker. Recently returned from a Magnum workshop with Bruce Gilden in Tokyo. Studying art history at Vassar College, NY.
